The wound, suffering body
The weapon, perceptual object
One can not be encountered without evoking the other
Benign transformation of the weapon
Distort and diminish
Malignant transformation of the wound
Abase and amplify
The struggle between these worlds is the struggle of life itself
Psychic link between the weapon and the wound
In our conscious, in our unconscious
Pain demands attention
Destroy by psychological means
Because physical wounds heal
Abase and diminish
Distort and amplify
Beliefs and actions
Hearts and minds
Psychic link between
The Suffering body
The Perceptual object
In our conscious, in our unconscious
Pain demands attention
Abase and diminish
Distort and amplify
Destroy by psychological means
Because physical wounds will heal

I had first heard of Spike Hellis through a friend. I was instantly hooked. I was fortunate enough to see them live last night here in Louisville,KY on 5/4/23. Funny enough, it was basically just a couple of weeks after I had been introduced to them. It made me so happy, and let me tell you, they are flawless live. I was blown away. If they come through your town, go and see them. deadinthescene

Putting Nightfall first on this is a hell of a start! A harsh, punishing track that goes right into a brutal beat and then feels right at home in the middle of everything. coldnecklace
A stellar cast of artists put their own shadowy spins on recent Bestial Mouths material—toward the goth club floor or into pure noise. Bandcamp New & Notable May 11, 2021

That devastating and frightening atmosphere is mesmerizing. Probably the only DWIFH album I fell in love with. Expiring Time, The Unclean, Threadbare, Downpour, At Rest - these all are my favorites. Val Levitsky
